FRIDA KARADIMA
Frida Karadima was born in Athens in 1974. In 1993 finishing high school, she made her entrance in the fashion industry next to the Greek fashion designer Philemon, as his junior designer. Their co-operation lasted for 3 years. She then decided to move to Italy in order to continue her studies. In 1998 she graduated from Milan's Domus Academy, with master's degree in Fashion Design. In the following years she worked as a freelance designer for fashion firms in Milan. The significant stage for her career was the position of designer/product manager for Marzotto and Giafranco Ferre. She worked in the firm for 4 years. After 8 years abroad, she returned to Athens, opened her atelier and created her own line in woman's wear. Her first collection was for autumn/winter 2003-2004. Her work has been presented in fashion shows in Athens. She has participated in several fashion happenings and events, as well as the closing ceremony of Athens Special Olympics in 2004 where she designed the outfits of the hostess. She has also designed outfits for theatrical plays. In March 2007 she presents for the first time at the Zappeion Megaron at Hellenic Fashion Designers Association for Athens Fashion week. Her work has been displayed by local and international fashion magazines and broadcasted by local and international network. Her basic style and structure of design are outfits that show off the feminine sillοuet in a avant-garde but still functional way.
